Genre: Drama
Basic story line- Amir and Hassan are two best friends, but walks two different ways: Amir as a successful writer, and Hassan as a discriminated person. Finally, Hassan get killed by the Taleban, and Amir starts an adventure to find Hassan's son, Sohrab. At last, Sohrab is found, but he tries to suicide because of Hassan's death. Luckly, Sohrab finds Amir's kindness and gets adopted by Amir.
Are the characters believable?- Yes, they are. In fact, I even felt happy, or sad based on Amir's situations. Even though this book is not a nonfiction, I strongly felt that this story could happen in real life, or really could have happened in the past. Amir was just like me: a little kind but a little selfish, either.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate this book?- I would give this book a 9. It was very realistic based on a bad society(Soviet Union's attack and the Taleban). Also, this book was very dramatic, since this book did not let me go and it became the best book I have ever read that still make me to remember this book. There were words could not understand, but still it is a great book.
I read the Kite Runner a few years ago, and while the story isn't quite clear in my mind, I remember it enough to know that the short review you gave this book hardly does this justice. There should have been more elaboration on the characters in general as well.
